Best Season to Do the Everest Panorama Trek

The Everest Panorama Trek is a short yet spectacular Himalayan adventure offering stunning views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and the Khumbu Valley. Choosing the right season can greatly enhance your trekking experience. At Mountain Eco Treks, we recommend the best time for each season as follows:

Spring (March to May)

Spring is one of the most popular trekking seasons. With mild temperatures, mostly clear skies, and blooming rhododendron forests, the trail becomes a vibrant and colorful landscape. This season is ideal for trekkers seeking clear mountain views and comfortable trekking conditions. Many travelers combine the Everest Panorama Trek with the Everest Base Camp Trek 14 - Days to enjoy both short and extended Himalayan adventures.

Autumn (September to November)

Autumn is widely considered the best overall trekking season in Nepal. After the monsoon, the air is crisp, visibility is excellent, and trails are dry and safe. It’s perfect for photography and for trekkers seeking cultural experiences, as local festivals add a unique touch. Autumn is ideal for the Everest Panorama Trek, and longer treks like the Gokyo Lake Trek offer magnificent high-altitude lakes and panoramic views.

Winter (December to February)

Winter offers a quiet and serene trekking experience. Snow-capped peaks, fewer crowds, and clear skies make it perfect for photographers and travelers seeking solitude. Temperatures can drop significantly, and some trails may be icy, so Mountain Eco Treks recommends proper winter gear and warm clothing. Winter trekking is suitable for the Everest Panorama Trek or adventurous trekkers on the Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days, who enjoy peaceful trails and stunning snow-covered landscapes.

Monsoon (June to August)

Monsoon trekking is less popular due to heavy rainfall, slippery trails, and occasional limited visibility, but it has its own charm. Valleys become lush, rivers flow abundantly, and the region is vibrant with greenery. Mountain Eco Treks recommends monsoon trekking only for experienced and adventurous trekkers. Even during this season, the Everest Panorama Trek can be rewarding, while treks like the Gokyo Lake Trek may be more challenging but offer a quiet and immersive Himalayan experience.

All-Season Recommendations by Mountain Eco Treks

Spring (March–May): Highly recommended for all trekkers; perfect for clear views, mild temperatures, and colorful rhododendron forests. Ideal for combining with Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days.
Autumn (September–November): Highly recommended for stable weather, dry trails, excellent visibility, and cultural experiences. Ideal for both Everest Panorama Trek and Gokyo Lake Trek.
Winter (December–February): Recommended for experienced and adventurous trekkers seeking solitude, snow-covered peaks, and quiet trails. Suitable for Everest Panorama Trek or Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days.
Monsoon (June–August): Recommended only for adventurous trekkers comfortable with rain, slippery trails, and lush green scenery. Everest Panorama Trek is manageable, while Gokyo Lake Trek is more challenging.

Dev went out of his way to help!

20th December, 2022

I would not go back to Nepal without contacting this company and Dev first. I was only trekking to Namche Bazaar, yet having Dev along was a huge help. Not only did we not get lost, but we also arrived safely. He also went out of his way to help me in a situation that came up. He also took us to see Mt. Everest from the Everest View hotel, which was an out-of-the-way hike. I can honestly say, I would not have made it to Namche Bazaar, and I definitely would not have seen Mt. Everest if Dev had not been along. I would definitely recommend this company, but especially having Dev as your guide.

A great view of Everest

20th December, 2022

I had the chance to do part of the Everest trail, flying into Lukla, an experience in itself. Dev took us on a hike all the way to Namche Bazaar, his knowledge and expertise were invaluable. Trekking in the Himalayas does take some effort, and it is important to give safety due consideration, having Dev leading us was invaluable. My travelling companion did suffer from slight altitude sickness, Dev kept a careful eye on how he was doing, while getting us to our destination.

If you want to see Everest, then I would defiantly recommend Dev.

Not much words needed to give Dev a review. We still look back at the absolute best guide we have ever had. Dev is a real expert, very gentle and adjusts his pace to the audience in front of him. We did a 5 day eco trekking which we really liked. Without Dev our Nepal experience would not have been such a succes.
